I am trying to make it a habit to write on my blog each week.
They say it takes 30 days to make it a habit - Wow! 3o weeks! We will see how that goes... I am currently working on my first prototype sculpture for breast cancer. It is a lot more tedious than I thought it would in the beginning. How hard can sculpture work be because I am an artist - ha! The word humble comes to mind as I am approaching this new medium and I need to recognize that there is always that growing curve that helps us appreciate other artists so much more! I am looking forward to posting my 2-d works in the next few weeks once the copyrights are approved. I can't wait to share my "shock art" with the public. May it make a statement...

It is hard to believe that I not only finished the six skeleton drawings I started working on at the beginning of the year, but also the Façade series (three paintings).
I am so excited! I have just finished copyrighting everything and I am ready to create my breast cancer sculpture. I will be posting some of my artwork in the very near future. I finally feel free to just enjoy creating artwork without the worry of a client liking or not liking it. It reminds me of when you are young and you just do something because you can, not because you have to. There is a joy in this that is so wonderful! I hope the world can appreciate my works as I race on to the finish line. Mary |
