The First Step... 11/27/2011

Have you ever felt when you are being nudged to move in a certain direction but you resist...sometimes for a long time? I am in this place now and starting to see everything unfold.
The article on my skeletons was printed in the Virginian Pilot on Thursday and it is wonderful getting feedback from others. I hope that friends will send in stories of their struggles and successes with eating disorders for the world to see.
As I prepare for my art show, I will be putting together a journal of all the stories that come in. I have had friends that have shared losing a love one to this horrible disease. I will never judge because I was there, all 88 pounds of me. I have managed to overcome this and want to help inspire others.
God created us to be the beautiful people that we are inside and out. Society tends to put such a high demand and price on how we look on the outside, but our hearts are what is most important. It is the one organ that keeps us alive.
KIndness, love and sincerity goes a long way to a being a better person than being a size 2.

Mary,
Your skeletons send a powerful message. Hopefully they will help shift the mindset of young girls from thin to healthy and help others overcome their struggles with eating disorders. Keep up the good work, I love it!
Ciao Bella,
Kathy

Now that's art expression! I'd put those on the wall.
